The Lonely Lives of Truckers
Maybe I am old enough, I was thinking, so as to be part of a generation. We, twenty-something year olds, are no longer “those darned college kids.” We want to throw “Bad 90’s music” theme parties and we remember when Michael Jackson was a famous singer. Commitment is not unconventional, and being single is not a stigma, so we can do whatever we want. We are still quite full of ourselves, but also a little worried about the future. Our life paths are becoming almost different enough to be on separate maps, but we are still able to blur them all in a filthy drinking game, our (sometimes designer) clothes soaked in decently cheap beer, the girls watching as the boys play their air guitars.I want to be part of a generation because this can mean anything. But I also want to know how to smoke like Claire Danes in the movie shot that has been my computer desktop for about two years now: looking stunningly sexy in her man’s shirt and her morning-after hair and invulnerable to the inevitability of death that cigarettes stand for at the ultimate.
Is this too much to ask for?

more than a little worried
Worried? I've heard it's not fashionable anymore to be worried.
one time i went to see thirteen going on thirty with my 14-year-old sister and my 10-year-old little brother and when they do the thriller dance my sister goes "yeah right, like they will all know the steps to the song". and i ask, "have you never heard this song? don't you know who michael jackson is?" and she says no. then my little brother says, "oh yeaaah, it's the guy who was going to drop his baby ..." your blog remind me of this sad event.
